CRYPTIC MASONS UNIVERSITY
The Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of the State of Illinois created this Cryptic Masons University in 1997 to solicit funds for the Nurses Scholarship Foundation.
The Cryptic Masons University is not a physical building. It is the University that is in the head and soul of man. This University teaches that charity is boundless and we must prudently use our time, talents and treasures industriously.
Although the Cryptic Masons University is not a physical building, it does exist. It exists in the mind of every cryptic Mason. It exists in every candidate who stands beside Adoniram as he retells the story about his conversation with Hiram Abif, where he is assured that by service and charity towards all men, the Masters’ Word cannot be lost.
It is true that the Cryptic Masons University is not a true institution of higher learning, but it is real. It is as real as honor, hope, integrity and charity. We may not be able to see or touch it, but we know it exists.
We have heard the cry of help. We have seen the need for charity. If charity and honor are a real part of your life then the Cryptic Masons University can become a real part of your life too. You need to become a student.

Enrollment and Degree Fees
The fees are donations to the Nurses’ Foundation and are one of the ways to generate the money needed to grant scholarships.
The fees are placed into a separate fund and are managed by the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of the State of Illinois. Only the interest from the account will be used to grant scholarships. Your fees and donations will continue to give forever.
By depositing $27.00 with the Foundation you will he enrolled into the University. You will receive an acceptance letter and the official Lapel Pin acknowledging you as a student. Additional deposits of any size will be accepted and after you have accumulated certain amounts based on the official audit on July 1st, the Degree will be granted from the College.

Each companion will receive a Diploma and a special rocker for his official lapel pin for each degree he achieves. The degree will be awarded at a special program at the Grand Council Annual Meeting.
The Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of the Illinois Cryptic Masons University will be made up of the individual Councils of the Grand council.
Any Council making donations that are not in the name of an individual member may receive a position on the Board of Trustee of our University-
In honor of an accumulated donation of $250.00: The Council will be made a trustee for a period of not more than four years.
With an accumulated donation of $500.00: The Council will have purchased a Chair on the Board of Trustees and will become a permanent member.
With an accumulated donation o f $1,000.00: We will construct a new wing on the University and name it after the Council.
With an accumulated donation of $2500.00: We will construct a new school on the University and. name it after the Council.
All donations are accumulated. Therefore any size donation is acceptable at any time. When the total amount matches any of the above totals -as of the official audit on July 1st, the Council will be recognized at the Annual Meeting of the Grand Council.
