ILLINOIS CRYPTIC MASON TABLE COUNCIL GOALS

  • Sign up at least one Council in each District to host a Table Council.
  • Provide a copy of the ritual to any Council that requests it, plus help from the committee to institute plans for a Table Council and Council Day.
  • Help Councils plan a table Council for family, friends & petitioners and encourage using a non-officers committee to host it.
  • Use a Table Council for presentation of awards, scholarships and recognitions.
  • Call attention to our Nursing Scholarship Program and other charities
  • Involve Youth Groups and participate in community and civic activities.
  • Generate a whole lot of favorable public and fraternal relation efforts
  • Offer opportunity to “LOOK GOOD” as Cryptic Masons before the Councils to obtain new members.

“HOT IDEAS’ FOR YOUR CRYPTIC MASON TABLE COUNCIL!

  • Toasting procedure; After each of the following, a Table Council officer proposes a toast. Everyone participates in toasting (non-alcoholic beverage) as explained by the presiding Table Council TIM (See the script)
  • The philosophical lesson; For this 7-minute talk seek a Mason or non-mason of the clergy, an educator, or one who reads a lot! (may be male for female!)
  • The patriotic lesson; For this 7-minute talk seed a Mason, or non-mason of the military (National Guard; veteran, Scouting, etc., male or female!  Another idea, maybe a job’s Daughters’ patriotic interpretive dance?
  • The benevolence lesson; This could be a 7-minute talk on a computer/slide or video presentation on the Masonic Learning Centers, the Murphysboro and LaGrange Masonic Homes, the CM Nursing Scholarship Foundation, the K.T. Eye Foundation, the KT Paxton Home or any other of our wonderful benevolent efforts!
  • Awards and recognitions; This is our best opportunity to convey our appreciation and support for youth groups, present scholarships and certificates, present donations to causes and honor our brethren, companions, women and youth groups! Take posed pictures to accompany our articles we later insert in local newspapers, etc.!
  • Distinguished Guests; Introduce only the attending celebrities not speaking! NO APPLAUSE! Instead, the traditional of our ancient brethren and companions was for the palm of the hand to gently rap a clear space on the table! EXPLAIN AND INSTRUCT OUR GUESTS, ACCORDINGLY!
  • Guest speaker; A 20-minute address by a person of the fraternity or community intended to inspire and enlighten us on an appropriate topic!
