First off, welcome to the new Grand Council website.  It was an honor being asked to help  create a new site for all Cryptic Masons in Illinois and I hope you enjoy what we have come up with so far.

Vision – Dale had made a comment to me that this was “your site”, to which I replied “no, this is OUR site”. Companions, that is exactly what I want this to be… OUR site. This site is for Cryptic Masons and therefore you can help shape what this site becomes. Please feel free to leave any feedback on the site including features you think we are missing. While I cannot accommodate every request, I will discuss them all with the Grand Council officers and implement what we can into the site.

Why Register? While registration is not required to view almost all of the site content, there are some features which require an account. For instance, registered users can be notified when new posts are made on the site and be added to our mailing list. In the future we are looking to have some Companion-only content which will also require that you register to access.

Privacy and Security – In this day and age, these are the most important things we can focus on when online. For those who have already registered for the site, you will have noticed there is a multiple step process. This allows us to confirm that you are using a valid email address (we have already had 8 bogus attempts to create accounts on the site). Rest assured, your email address will never be given out or used for anything other then official communications from the Grand Council.

About the site: For those who are interested, the site is built using WordPress. While typically used for blogging, it also provides a very flexible basis for building entire sites with lots of available features.
