Grand Council Scripture Readings 2016-2017

To be read at stated meetings before the opening prayer.

“Don’t you know that you yourself are God’s temple and that God’s spirit lives within you?”
(1 Cor. 3:16).
Be ye therefore perfect even as your father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:48).
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single; thy whole body shall be full of light” (Matt. 6:22).
“So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. (Matthew 10:26)
“…for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them, and I will be their God…” (Corinthians 6:16)
“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. (Deuteronomy 29:29)
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
(Proverbs 2:6)
For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. (Ecclesiastes 7:12)
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. (Job 28:28)
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it was thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Genesis 3:19)
When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee. (Proverbs 2:10-11)
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
